Top Ten Reasons Why It Cannot Possibly Be September of 2009 Already
1. If it is September of 2009, then it is only 52 more sleeps until Toby turns four. And I know this cannot be possible, since he looked like this just 3 seconds ago:
2. If it is September of 2009, then Christmas of 2009 is only 115 sleeps away. Have you gotten so much as a speck of shopping done? Me neither.
3. If it is September of 2009, then 2010 is only 122 sleeps away. And I have no flying car yet. WHERE IS MY FLYING CAR?????? HUH? HUH?
And my robotic substitute?
And my holodeck?
The future was so damn overrated.
4. If it is September of 2009, that means the first 8 months of 2009 are completely gone already. Gone! Done! Finished! And I did not appreciate them!
How shockingly different for me.
5. If it is September of 2009, then we would already have 2 weeks of school under our belts.
Oh, wait. We do.
nevermind.
6. If it is September of 2009, that means I have to start contemplating buying sneakers for my brood and (sob!) socks, which eat up fully 23% of our budget every fall/winter. I am so not prepared for this. Is it too late to move to the tropics?
7. If it is September of 2009, that means my grandbaby boy is going to be five months old in a few days, and I have yet to absorb the fact that my daughter is even married.
well. Okay then.
8. If it is September of 2009, I am teetering on the verge of Geriatric Collapse, according to the thinking of my 1986-self, and yet here I am, decidedly Not Old. Nevermind the cheaters I got for my birthday.
9. If it is September of 2009, I would be fully accustomed to writing 2009 on my checks by now, and not still doggedly scribbling in 2008.
10. If it is September of 2009, that means the next Ironman movie is just that much closer to being in the theaters.
Okay.
So it’s not all bad, then.

The graffitied wedding picture had me cracking up.
Heth totally stole my comment.
You can have your flying car..I want that food thingy from Star Trek!! Looks like neither is in the cards for 2010.
Too funny! I can’t believe 8 months have flown so quickly either. Sheesh, I had my baby in JAN! Wasn’t that just a few weeks ago?! Anyway, that picture of you and your grand-baby is ADORABLE!
As terrifying as the number of sleeps until Christmas is, I have to admit that I have always loved September, for the reasons listed HERE.
I, too, was cracking up at the wedding picture. I have to admit though, the one of Toby literally made me giggle. And then sigh…
…thinking of my own, kids, that is.
The Iron Man picture made my day!
the consolation of a grandbaby…very sweet!
omg I love that picture of Toby. And you had me cracking up the whole way through this, only I can’t really lol since Tim’s asleep.
September? Impossible.
And you sooooo did not just mention Christmas…?! Ack!
Yeah, how did Ironman become one of my favorite action flicks? Between that and Serenity I could never watch another action movie again and be happy. Except for when I want to watch Star Wars.
Although I’ve only posted once before (to suggest that “Nonny” is the perfect youthful grandmother name), I love your blog and feel I would be withholding significant enjoyment from you if I didn’t recommend that you find a copy of Ally McBeal Season Four and watch it immediately. I couldn’t come up with a perfect YouTube clip to show how adorably quirky and sarcastic Robert Downey Jr.’s character is, so I had to settle for this sappy music montage — sorry. At least he’s the one singing “Chances Are” in the background with Vonda Shepard.

(By the way, my husband loved the season just as much as I did, although I have to say he didn’t do quite as much swooning.)
If it is September of 2009, then that means I haven’t even watched the FIRST IronMan; I really do need to get with it. And btw, this old lady thought Robert Downey Jr. was hot wayyyyy before you young whippersnappers figured it out.
So glad I stopped by, that was hilarious!
Love this list! ^-^
You HAD to post that last photo, didn’t you? Me oh my, RDJ…me oh my…
Love it! I also love baby morning hair! It is sometimes the only good thing about morning…
This post made my day!
